Specialty Insurance Company BEFORE: PETTIGREW, McDONALD, and CALLOWAY, JJ. McDONALD, J.
Judge Curtis A. Calloway, retired, is serving as judge pro tempore by special appointment of the Louisiana Supreme Court. --------
Jarma Paige, a resident of a leased house, filed suit against Barbara Dickerson, the lessor, and Ms. Dickerson's insurer, Centauri Specialty Insurance Company (Centauri), for injuries Ms. Paige sustained when she tripped in a driveway bed under reconstruction while taking a garbage can to the street. The trial court granted summary judgment to Ms. Dickerson and Centauri and dismissed Ms. Paige's claims with prejudice.
Our review of the summary judgment is subject to de novo review on appeal, using the same standards applicable to the trial court's determination of the issues. Mabile's Trucking, Inc. v. Stallion Oilfield Servs., Ltd., 15-0740 (La. App. 1 Cir. 1/8/16), 185 So.3d 98, 102, writ denied, 16-0251 (La. 4/4/16), 190 So.3d 1207. After our review, and after considering the parties' appellate arguments, we conclude the trial court properly granted summary judgment to Ms. Dickerson and Centauri.
We affirm the May 25, 2016 judgment, dismissing this matter in its entirety. We issue this memorandum opinion in compliance with the Uniform Rules - Courts of Appeal, Rule 2-16.1(B). We assess no costs in this pauper suit.
AFFIRMED.
