Chief Deputy Clerk APPLYING FOR SUPERVISORY WRIT FROM THE TWENTY-FOURTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT, PARISH OF JEFFERSON, STATE OF LOUISIANA, DIRECTED TO THE HONORABLE STEPHEN C. GREFER, DIVISION "J", NUMBER 10-5896 Panel composed of Judges Fredericka Homberg Wicker, Jude G. Gravois, and Marion F. Edwards, Judge Pro Tempore
WRIT OF MANDAMUS GRANTED WITH ORDER
Joel Orellana, filed this application for a Writ of Mandamus, requesting that this Court order the 24th Judicial District for the Parish of Jefferson to rule on his "Motion for Production of Verbatim Boykin Exam Transcript, Stamped as Filed January 30, 2018". The record shows that the 24th Judicial District Court denied that motion on February 1, 2018. The judgment requested service on Orellana at Dixon Correctional Center. However, a return of service by the LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Office indicates incorrectly that relator is not at Dixon Correctional Center. Thus, it appears that relator, who is in fact housed at Dixon Correctional Center, was never served with the judgment of the trial court. Accordingly, the Writ of Mandamus is granted and,
IT IS ORDERED that the 24th Judicial District Court re-serve relator with a copy of the February 1, 2018 judgment denying his "Motion for Production of Verbatim Boykin Exam Transcript, Stamped as Filed January 30, 2018".
Gretna, Louisiana, this 5th day of July, 2018.
