ORDER OF SUSPENSION

Upon consideration of (1) Petitioner Office of Disciplinary Counsel's (Petitioner ODC) ex parte petition for issuance of reciprocal discipline notice to Respondent Richard A. Williams (Respondent Williams), (2) Petitioner ODC's supporting memoranda, affidavits, and exhibits, (3) Respondent Williams's lack of response to our September 19, 2003 notice and order regarding reciprocal discipline pursuant to Rule 2.15(b) of the Rules of the Supreme Court of the State of Hawai`i (RSCH), and (4) the record, it appears that, on December 20, 2002, the Superior Court of the Judicial District of Stamford-Norwalk, State of Connecticut, issued an order that suspended Respondent Williams from the practice of law in Connecticut on an interim basis pending the final disposition of a disciplinary matter in Connecticut. It further appears that reciprocal discipline in the form of a suspension in Hawai`i is warranted pursuant to RSCH Rule 2.15(c). Therefore,

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that, pursuant to RSCH Rule 2.15(c), Respondent Williams is suspended from the practice of law in Hawai`i pending disposition of the disciplinary proceedings in the State of Connecticut and until further order of this court. This order is effective upon filing.
