Office of Disciplinary Counsel v. McNeff

Supreme Court of Hawaii
Nov 20, 2007
No. 26539 (Haw. Nov. 20, 2007)

Opinion

No. 26539

November 20, 2007.

(ODC 04-036-8016)

Cynthia Kay McNeff, respondent, on the petition.

Carole R. Richelieu, Chief Disciplinary Counsel, for petitioner, on the affidavit.

ORDER OF REINSTATEMENT

Upon consideration of Respondent Cynthia Kay McNeff's petition for reinstatement to the practice of law, Chief Disciplinary Counsel's affidavit regarding reinstatement, and the record and files in this case, it appears that Respondent McNeff has complied with requirements of Rule 2.17(b) of the Rules of the Supreme Court of the State of Hawai'i (RSCH) and has paid court-ordered costs, but, as Respondent McNeff readily admits, did not comply with the requirements of RSCH 2.16(d). Respondent McNeff is admonished that she is obliged to know the court rules, but we will not deny reinstatement when no harm has resulted from the failure to comply with RSCH 2.16(d). Therefore,

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Respondent Cynthia Kay McNeff is reinstated to the practice of law in the State of Hawai'i and may resume the practice of law upon payment of all required registration fees. See RSCH 17. This order is effective upon entry.
