LUIS G. MORENO OCAMPO, Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes Judge

This case is on the December 18, 2023 Los Angeles, California trial calendar. On November 15, 2023 the parties filed what they called a status report, but was in effect a request for a continuance to try to work out a settlement. We spoke with them today to clarify their intent and discuss progress in the case. Respondent has promised to reduce his request for substantiating records to writing in the form of a Branerton letter, and petitioner promised to get the relevant records to respondent within 45 days. This makes it reasonable to move the case to a status-report track, and it is

ORDERED that this case is stricken from the Court's December 18, 2023 Los Angeles, California trial calendar. It is also

ORDERED that this division of the Court retains jurisdiction. It is also

ORDERED that on or before January 19, 2024 the parties file a status report describing their progress in finishing informal discovery and moving the case to settlement.
