This case is scheduled for trial at the session of the Court scheduled to commence on February 14, 2022, at Atlanta, Georgia. On December 3, 2021, the parties filed a Motion for Continuance (docket entry no. 11) and Motion for a New Trial (docket entry no. 12). We agree that setting the proposed pretrial schedule shall provide the parties with adequate time to prepare this case for trial. However, in the best interest of judicial economy, we will set trial for a time and date certain following a show of compliance with the pretrial schedule and substantive trial preparation.
Accordingly, it is
ORDERED that the parties' joint Motion for Continuance, filed December 3, 2021, is granted and this case is hereby stricken from trial at the session of the Court scheduled to commence at Atlanta, Georgia on February 14, 2022. It is further
ORDERED that the parties' Motion for a New Trial, filed December 3, 2021, is retitled as a joint "Motion for Special Trial". It is further
ORDERED that the above-referenced Motion for Special Trial, is granted in that this case will be calendared for a special trial at time, date, and format (in-person or remote) to later be determined by the Court. It is further
ORDERED that the proposed pretrial schedule as established in the Motion for Special Trial--at Attachment A--is hereby adopted by the Court. It is further
ORDERED that the undersigned retains jurisdiction.
