ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE

Appeal by Akeem Murphy from an order of the Family Court, Richmond County, dated March 18, 2024. By order on certification of this Court dated March 29, 2024, the following attorney was assigned as counsel for the appellant on the appeal, and was directed, inter alia, to contact the appellant and determine the appellant's interest in perfecting the appeal:

By letter dated May 13, 2024, assigned counsel notified the Court that she has been unable to contact the appellant and wishes to be relieved on the ground that the appellant has abandoned the appeal by failing to respond to communications by assigned counsel.

On the Court's own motion, it is

ORDERED that the parties are directed to show cause before this Court why an order should or should not be made and entered relieving the assigned counsel for the appellant and dismissing the appeal in the above-entitled proceeding by each uploading a digital copy of an affirmation or affidavit, with proof of service thereof, through the digital portal on this Court's website on or before June 24, 2024; if a self-represented party is unable to use the digital portal, they may instead file a copy of an affirmation or affidavit, with proof of service thereof, via email at [email protected] or via regular mail addressed to the Clerk of this Court on or before June 24, 2024; and it is further, ORDERED that the Clerk of this Court, or his designee, is directed to serve a copy of this order to show cause upon the parties or their attorneys, and upon the appellant, via email to the email address provided to this Court, or if no email address is available for service by regular mail.
