On Appeal from the 117th District Court of Nueces County, Texas
Before Justices Tijerina, Silva, and Peña
ORDER TO FILE APPELLANT'S BRIEF
PER CURIAM.
This cause is currently before the Court on appellant's failure to file the appellate brief. Appellant's brief was originally due on August 31, 2024. After two extensions, appellant's brief was due to be filed on December 4, 2024. On December 3, 2024, appellant filed a third extension of time providing the reason for her request therein. Appellant seeks sixty days of additional time to file the appellate brief. See TEX. R. APP. P. 38.6.
The Court, having fully examined and considered appellant's third motion for extension of time to file the appellate brief based on, new and exigent circumstances provided by appellant's counsel and the previous extension requests granted, is of the opinion that, in the interest of justice, the appellate brief should be ordered due.
Accordingly, appellant's third motion for extension of time to file the brief is hereby granted. IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that the Honorable Sandra Eastwood, counsel for appellant, file the appellate brief due in this cause with this Court on or before 5:00 p.m. on January 18, 2025. No further extensions shall be granted absent and new exigent circumstances.
