MEDRANO, et al., Petitioners, v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes Judge

These cases were on the Court's October 25, 2021 trial calendar for San Francisco, California. The Court spoke with the parties on September 30, 2021. At that time, petitioners' cases were assigned to an Appeals Officer who had requested exam assistance and was awaiting computations based on adjustments made by an examiner. Respondent recently reported that petitioners received the computations but then concluded that they disagreed with the adjustments. The cases are no longer with Appeals, but Respondent's counsel has contacted petitioners' representative to make to make one last effort to settle before we move the cases to a pretrial-order track. It is therefore

ORDERED that on or before January 28, 2022 the parties submit settlement documents or respondent file a status report to describe the parties' progress.

If they do not settle, the parties should expect the cases to be tried during the spring of 2022.
