FROM THE 466TH DISTRICT COURT OF COMAL COUNTY NO. C2023-1410E, THE HONORABLE MELISSA MCCLENAHAN, JUDGE PRESIDING
Before Chief Justice Byrne, Justices Triana and Kelly
ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE
PER CURIAM
This is a contempt proceeding ancillary to the appeal of M.B. The subject of this proceeding is Jason M. Jett, appellant's attorney.
Appellant filed a notice of appeal on June 4, 2024, and her brief was originally due July 2, 2024. On July 19, 2024, after receiving conflicting motions from M.B. and her counsel, we ordered counsel to file appellant's brief no later than August 5, 2024. To date, appellant's brief has not been filed.
Therefore, it is hereby ordered that Jason M. Jett shall appear in person before this Court on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 9 a.m., in the Third Court of Appeals courtroom, located on the first floor of the Price Daniel, Sr. Building, 209 West 14th Street, in Austin, Travis County, Texas, to show cause why he should not be held in contempt and have sanctions imposed for his failure to obey our July 19, 2024 order.
This order to show cause will be withdrawn and Jason M. Jett will be relieved of his obligation to appear before this Court as ordered above if the Clerk of this Court receives appellant's brief or a motion to dismiss this appeal signed by Jett and M.B. on or before August 26, 2024.
It is ordered.
