Appeal from Workmen's Compensation Board.
Present — Foster, P.J., Heffernan, Brewster, Bergan and Coon, JJ.
Decedent was employed as a moulder and metal pourer in a plant in which radiators and boilers were made. The pouring required the manipulation of ladles, tipping them by the use of a turning handle. The handle used by decedent was hard to turn and there is proof that it was fifty times as hard as the ordinary ladle handle. On August 30, 1949, shortly after using this handle deceased collapsed and died of myocardial infarction, coronary thrombosis and arteriosclerosis of the coronary arteries. There is medical opinion associating the added strain of the work with the death. Decision and award unanimously affirmed, with costs to the Workmen's Compensation Board.
