JOHN MARINELLO & SUZANNE MARINELLO, Petitioners v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent
ORDER
Christian N. Weiler, Judge.
On July 6, 2022, respondent's counsel filed a status report informing the Court that the appeals officer assigned to this case informed him that the parties had reached a basis of settlement in this case. Soon after the appeals officer informed respondent's counsel that a settlement had been reached, the case was transferred back to respondent's counsel because the appeals officer had retired. The report further states that at this time, respondent's counsel is unable to represent to the Court whether a true meeting of the minds occurred between petitioners and the assigned appeals officer in their resolution of this case, which is why a signed decision document has yet to be filed. Respondent's counsel is requesting additional time so that the parties can work together in an effort to conclude and resolve this case.
Upon due consideration, it is
ORDERED that on or before September 9, 2022, the parties shall file either a proposed stipulated decision or a report as to the then-present status of this case.
