In Re: Brian Lewis, applying for supervisory writs, 19th Judicial District Court, Parish of East Baton Rouge, No. 638918. BEFORE: WELCH, CRAIN AND HOLDRIDGE, JJ.
WRIT GRANTED IN PART AND DENIED IN PART. The district court abused its discretion in denying relator's motions for appeal filed on May 10, 2016 and June 16, 2016. Accordingly, the trial court is ordered to grant relator's motions to appeal, filed on May 10, 2016 and June 16, 2016. The writ is denied as to relator's claims pertaining to the district court's failure to consider the motion to amend the petition regarding the allegations involving defendant, Cheryl Lum. Moreover, relator has failed to provide any specific allegations or support for his claim that Judge Fields is biased or prejudiced against him. Thus, there was no error in the ruling denying the motion to recuse Judge Fields. See La. Code Civ. P. art. 151(A)(4). See also Slaughter v. Bd. of Sup'rs of S. Univ. & Agr. & Mech. Coll., 2010-1114 (La. App. 1st Cir. 8/2/11), 76 So.3d 465, 470-71, writ denied, 2011-2112 (La. 1/13/12), 77 So.3d 970. As to relator's request that this Court order Judge Fields to release the names of his accusers, this Court if a court of review and relator does not point to any specific ruling of the district court for this Court to consider.
