On Appeal from the 292nd Judicial District Court Dallas County, Texas
Trial Court Cause No. F13-53089-V
ORDER
Section 22.011 of the Texas Penal Code defines "child" as "a person younger than 17 years of age." See TEX. PENAL CODE ANN. § 22.011(c)(1) (West 2013). Appellant was convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a young child. Id. § 21.02. In his brief, appellant generally refers to the victim using initials except when quoting the record when he refers to her by name.
Accordingly, we STRIKE appellant's brief filed August 11, 2017.
We ORDER appellant to file, within FIFTEEN DAYS of the date of this order, amended briefs that identify the child victim and any child witness either generically ("victim") or by initials only.
We DIRECT the Clerk to send copies of this order to John Tatum and the Dallas County District Attorney's Office.
