JASON CURTIS LAMBERT, Appellant, v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee.

Do not publish. Tex.R.App.P. 47.2(b).

On appeal from the 24th District Court of Jackson County, Texas.

Before Justices Longoria, Silva, and Peña

ORDER OF ABATEMENT

PER CURIAM.

This appeal is before the Court on appellant's Motion to Abate the Appeal. Appellant represents that the instant appeal is directly impacted by appellate cause number 13-24-00039-CR, The State of Texas v. Jason Curtis Lambert. In cause number 13-24-00039-CR, the State is challenging the trial court's order granting a new trial for appellant. Appellant requests that we stay appellate proceedings in cause number 13-23-00504-CR until this Court has resolved the appeal in cause number 13-24-00039-CR.

This Court agrees that the issue in the instant appeal will be affected by the outcome in cause number 13-24-00039-CR, and judicial economy dictates that we should abate the instant appeal pending the outcome in that matter. Accordingly, we GRANT appellant's motion and ABATE the instant appeal pending further order of this Court.
