ORDER

It is

ORDERED that the motion (Doc. 38) of petitioner's counsel to withdraw, as supplemented (see Doc. 40), is granted. Hereafter, petitioner George S. Lakner shall: (1) represent himself, (2) be responsible for preparing his case for trial and for cooperating with his opponent (counsel for the Commissioner), and (3) be responsible for complying with this Court's rules and orders. If the petitioner intends to hire new counsel, he should do so promptly. We note that a majority of Tax Court petitioners represent themselves, and petitioner in this case is free to do so. If petitioner is uncertain how to proceed, then he should telephone (at 202-521-0850) the Chambers Administrator of the judge signing this order, for the purpose of setting up a conference call among the Court and the parties.
