I concur in the result reached by the majority, but I would have reversed the trial court's denial of defendant's motion for summary disposition if we were not bound by Meemic Ins Co v Fortson, 324 Mich App 467; 922 NW2d 154 (2018), lv gtd 503 Mich 1031 (2019).
