L. C., Appellant v. Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Appellee

FROM THE 146TH DISTRICT COURT OF BELL COUNTY NO. 317,282, THE HONORABLE CHRISTOPHER L. CORNISH, JUDGE PRESIDING

Before Chief Justice Byrne, Justices Triana and Kelly

ORDER

PER CURIAM

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Service's brief was originally due July 18, 2024. The Department counsel has now filed a motion requesting that the Court extend the time for filing its brief. We grant the motion for extension of time and order the Department to file a brief no later than August 8, 2024. Amendments to the rules of judicial administration accelerate the final disposition of appeals from suits for termination of parental rights. See Tex. R. Jud. Admin. 6.2(a) (providing 180 days for court's final disposition). The accelerated schedule requires greater compliance with briefing deadlines. No further extension of time will be granted and failure to comply with this order will result in the case being submitted to this Court on the appellant's brief alone.

It is ordered
