YOGESH KUMAR & NEHA KHURANA, Petitioners v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes Judge

This case is on the Court's May 1, 2023 San Francisco, California trial calendar. It's a high-value case that we'd continued last year when it appeared on the calendar, so we spoke with the parties today to discuss progress. As it turns out, the continuance last year for a chance to settle at IRS Appeals did not work out. If the case is to settle it will be at Chief Counsel. And the detour in hope of settlement seems to have delayed completion of informal discovery. After discussing a timeline to resolution with the parties, we concluded that it would be most reasonable to spur the parties into at least a first round of informal discovery in the next month and then see whether the case should stay on a status-report track or be shunted to a pretrial-order track. it is therefore

ORDERED that on or before April 24,, 2023, the parties file a status report describing their progress in informal discovery.
