ORDER

Petitioner Janice K. M. Chung Keliihananui's letter and "brief" dated August 7, 2009 were received and filed in the supreme court on September 14, 2009 and are deemed a motion for reconsideration of the April 21, 2009 order denying petitioner's petition for a writ of mandamus. The deadline for filing a motion for reconsideration of the April 21, 2009 order expired on May 1, 2009. See HRAP 40(a) ("A motion for reconsideration may be filed by a party only within 10 days after the filing of the opinion, dispositional order, or ruling unless by special leave additional time is granted during such period by a judge or justice of the appellate court involved."). Therefore,

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the motion for reconsideration is dismissed as untimely.
