Opinion

EDWARD JOSE, Petitioner, v. THE SECOND JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF WASHOE; AND THE HONORABLE SCOTT N. FREEMAN, DISTRICT JUDGE, Respondents, and THE STATE OF NEVADA, Real Party in Interest.

ORDER DENYING PETITION

This original petition for a writ of mandamus seeks an order directing the district court to reverse and vacate the sentence Edward Jose received on October 11, 2017. Because a sentence can be challenged on appeal from the judgment of conviction, see NRS 177.015(3); NRS 177.045, Jose has a plain, speedy, and adequate remedy at law and, therefore, this court's intervention by way of an extraordinary writ is not warranted, see NRS 34.170. Accordingly, without deciding upon the merits of any claims raised, we

We express no opinion as to whether Jose could meet the procedural requirements for filing a direct appeal. See NRAP 4(b). --------
