STEVEN RAY JORDAN, Appellant v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee

On Appeal from the 401st Judicial District Court Collin County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. 401-84183-2023

ORDER

BONNIE LEE GOLDSTEIN JUSTICE

We REINSTATE this appeal.

We abated this appeal for the trial court to hold a hearing and make findings and recommendations concerning appellant's brief. The trial court held the hearing on December 9, 2024, and the trial court filed its findings and recommendations on December 11, 2024.

The trial court's findings include: "Ms. Davila has reviewed the Reporter's and Clerk's record on this case and has begun the brief. She is confident that she can complete the brief within 45 days, on or before January 20, 2025 'in worse case scenario.' The Court is confident of that as well."

The trial court recommendations include that Ms. Davila remain appellant's appointed counsel and that the date for appellant's brief be set for no earlier than January 20, 2025.

We accept the trial court's findings and recommendations.

We ORDER Ms. Davila to file appellant's brief on or before JANUARY 21, 2025. See TEX. R. APP. P. 4.1(a). If appellant's brief is not filed by that date, the Court may order Ms. Davila removed from representing appellant and order the trial court to appoint counsel for appellant.
