Renee Jones, Appellant v. Robert W. Martinson, Appellee

On Appeal from the 235th District Court Cooke County, Texas Trial Court No. CV21-00066

Before Wallach, J.; Sudderth, C.J.; and Walker, J.

MEMORANDUM OPINION

Per Curiam

Appellant Renee Jones attempts to appeal from the trial court's "Order on Respondent's First Amended Motion for Contempt." The order found Jones in civil and criminal contempt.

On January 4, 2024, we notified Jones of our concern that we do not have jurisdiction over the appeal because contempt orders are not generally appealable. See, e.g., Iconic Motion Sports, LLC v. Grijalva, No. 02-17-00103-CV, 2017 WL 2471099, at *1 (Tex. App.-Fort Worth June 8, 2017, no pet.) (mem. op.) (noting further that contempt orders involving confinement may be reviewed by writ of habeas corpus and that contempt orders that do not involve confinement may be reviewed only through mandamus). We warned Jones that we could dismiss the appeal unless she or another party filed with this court, on or before January 16, 2024, a response showing grounds for the appeal's continuance.

We have not received a response. Accordingly, we dismiss the appeal for want of jurisdiction. See id.; see also Tex.R.App.P. 42.3(a), 43.2(f).
