DISCUSSIONAs a threshold matter, Tennessee Rule of Appellate Procedure 13(b) requires this Court to determine whether we have subject matter jurisdiction to adjudicate this appeal. See Jones v. Jones, No. W2015-01304-COA-R3-CV, 2016 WL 4009716, at *1 (Tenn. Ct. App. July 22, 2016). "Courts derive their subject matter jurisdiction from the Constitution of Tennessee or from legislative act, and cannot exercise jurisdictional powers that have not been conferred directly on them expressly or by necessary implication."
