ELLOYD JOHNSON, Appellant v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appelle

DISMISS; Opinion issued February 17, 2012

On Appeal from the 195th Judicial District Court

Dallas County, Texas

Trial Court Cause No. F98-00897-PN

MEMORANDUM OPINION

Before Chief Justice Wright and Justices Bridges and Myers

Opinion By Chief Justice Wright

Elloyd Johnson was convicted of delivery of cocaine. He was sentenced to imprisonment on August 7, 1998. That conviction was affirmed on direct appeal. Johnson v. State, No. 05-98- 01387-CR (Tex. App.-Dallas Mar. 9, 2000, pet. ref'd). On January 10, 2012, appellant filed a notice of appeal seeking to challenge his 1998 conviction. Appellant's notice of appeal is untimely, leaving us without jurisdiction over the appeal. See Tex. R. App. P. 26.2(a)(1); Slaton v. State, 981 S.W.2d 208, 210 (Tex. Crim. App. 1998) (per curiam). We dismiss the appeal for want of jurisdiction.
