The reporter's record in these appeals is overdue. The reporter's record was originally due May 1, 2024.
According to the court reporters' correspondence with this Court, the court reporters for this case are Stacy Harlow and Yolanda Atkins, who were to send their transcriptions to the official court reporter, Jamie Carroll, who would file the reporter's record with this Court. Ms. Harlow sent the transcription she prepared to Ms. Carroll on April 16, 2024. This Court granted Ms. Atkins's requests for extension of time to file the reporter's record. On September 12, 2024, Ms. Atkins told this Court, "I am confident that I will complete the Reporter's Record September 27, 2024." On October 4, 2024, Ms. Carroll notified this Court that Ms. Atkins had not sent Ms. Carroll the transcriptions she had prepared for filing with this Court.
We ORDER Ms. Atkins to transmit the completed transcriptions of the portions of these cases where she is the court reporter to Ms. Carroll on or before OCTOBER 14, 2024. If Ms. Carroll has not filed the reporter's record by October 15, 2024, then Ms. Carroll shall notify this Court in writing on October 15, 2024, whether she has received the transcriptions from Ms. Atkins, whether there are any defects in the transcriptions from Ms. Atkins that would prevent or delay Ms. Carroll's filing the reporter's record, and the date on which Ms. Carroll expects to file the reporter's record with this Court.
We caution Ms. Atkins that should she fail to transmit the transcriptions to Ms. Carroll by October 14, 2024, the Court will utilize whatever remedies it has available, which may include ordering that she not sit as a court reporter until she complies with this Court's order.
We DIRECT the Clerk to send copies of this order to the Honorable Chika Anyiam, Presiding Judge, Criminal District Court No. 7, Dallas County; Jamie Carroll, Official Court Reporter, Criminal District Court No. 7; Yolanda Atkins, Court Reporter; Stacy Harlow, Court Reporter; and counsel for all parties.
