J. E. and D. C. a/k/a D. W., Appellants v. Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Appellee

FROM THE 428TH DISTRICT COURT OF HAYS COUNTY
NO. 2015-1454, HONORABLE WILLIAM R. HENRY, JUDGE PRESIDINGORDER

PER CURIAM

Appellants J.E. and D.C. a/k/a D.W. filed their notice of appeal on May 31, 2016. The appellate record was complete June 13, 2016, making appellants' brief due July 5, 2016. On July 5, 2016, counsel for appellants filed a motion for extension of time to file appellants' brief.

Amendments to the rules of judicial administration accelerate the final disposition of appeals from suits for termination of parental rights. See Tex. R. Jud. Admin. 6.2(a) (providing 180 days for court's final disposition). The accelerated schedule constrains this Court's leeway in granting extensions. In this instance, we will grant the motion and order counsel to file appellants' brief no later than July 25, 2016. If the brief is not filed by that date, counsel may be required to show cause why he should not be held in contempt of court.

It is ordered on July 6, 2016. Before Justices Puryear, Pemberton, and Field
