Before the Court is real party in interest Criminal District Attorney of Dallas County's November 22, 2024 motion to substitute lead counsel and for extension of seven days to respond to the amended petition for writ of mandamus. We GRANT the motion.
Accordingly, we EXTEND the deadline for filing any response to relators' amended petition for writ of mandamus to December 17, 2024.
We also DIRECT the Clerk of this Court to REMOVE Ben L. Stool as lead counsel and attorney of record for real party in interest Criminal District Attorney of Dallas County and to DESIGNATE Cherie K. Batsel, Barbara S. Nicholas, and Jason G. Schuette as its counsel of record, with Cherie K. Batsel designated as lead counsel.
