IN RE GUARDIANSHIP OF VERSALLE, Minors.


Order

On November 9, 2021, the Court heard oral argument on the application for leave to appeal the October 15, 2020 judgment of the Court of Appeals. On order of the Court, we DIRECT the parties to file supplemental briefs within 28 days after the date of this order addressing: (1) whether the requirements of MCL 700.5204(2)(b) must be met when the guardianship petition is filed or at the time the guardianship determination is made; and (2) whether the statutory requirements were met in this case.

The Family Law Section and the Children's Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan are invited to file briefs amicus curiae. Other persons or groups interested in the determination of the issues presented in this case may move the Court for permission to file briefs amicus curiae.

The application for leave to appeal remains pending.
