Original Mandamus Proceeding

This proceeding arises out of Cause No. 2020-PA-01945, styled In the Interest of J.D., a Child, in the 150th Judicial District Court, Bexar County, Texas, the Honorable Mary Lou Alvarez presiding.

Sitting: Irene Rios, Justice, Lori I. Valenzuela, Justice Lori M. Brissette, Justice.

ORDER

PER CURIAM

On June 27, 2024, Relator, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, filed a motion for recusal in the underlying matter. That same day, Respondent filed a motion with this court asking for a temporary lift of the stay, issued by this court on April 11, 2024, to permit Respondent to transfer the underlying matter to the 73rd Judicial District Court of Bexar County.

Given the representations made by Respondent in her motion and reply in support thereof, it is ORDERED that the stay is lifted for the sole purpose of having the recusal motion heard and, if granted, for the underlying matter to be reassigned to another judge.

All other relief not expressly granted herein is DENIED.

It is so ORDERED.
