IN RE ODIS STYERS, Relator

ORIGINAL PROCEEDING WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS County Court at Law Austin County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. 2023L-8325

Panel Consists of Justices Wise, Spain, and Hassan.

ORDER

PER CURIAM

On Monday, July 29, 2024, relator Odis Styers filed a petition for writ of habeas corpus in this court. See Tex. Gov't Code Ann. § 22.221(d); see also Tex. R. App. P. 52. Relator asks this court to order the Honorable Daniel W. Leedy, Judge of the County Court at Law, in Austin County, Texas, to vacate the trial court's order dated July 25, 2024, entered in trial court number 2023L-8325.

Relator's petition does not satisfy the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure. See Tex.R.App.P. 52.7(a)(2) ("Relator must file with the petition a properly authenticated transcript of any relevant testimony from any underlying proceeding, including any exhibits offered in evidence, or a statement that no testimony was adduced in connection with the matter complained.")

On or before August 8, 2024, relator shall supplement his petition for writ of habeas corpus to comply with Rule 52.7(a)(2) of the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure. If relator does not supplement his petition, this original proceeding is subject to being dismissed for want of prosecution without further notice. In addition, the court requests Vicki Ignasiak, the real party in interest, to file a response to the petition for habeas corpus on or before 14 days from the date the supplemented petition is filed. See Tex. R. App. P. 52.4.
