STANDING ORDER REGARDING PAPER COPIES OF BRIEFS TO BE FILED IN THE MINNESOTA SUPREME COURT PURSUANT TO RULE 131.03, MINNESOTA RULES OF CIVIL APPELLATE PROCEDURE
Effective July 1, 2014, Minn. R. Civ. App. P. 131.03, subd. 1 allows the court to establish the required number, time, and manner of filing paper copies of briefs in appeals filed with the court.
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that effective as of July 1, 2014, in all appeals pending on or commenced after that date, all parties filing briefs with the supreme court shall file 5 paper copies of that brief. Two copies of the 5 paper briefs shall be unbound. All five paper copies shall be filed with the Clerk of Appellate Courts in the form required by Minn. R. Civ. App. P. 132, and filing shall be accomplished at the same time that the party's brief is served pursuant to Minn. R. Civ. App. P. 131.03, subd. 2, or if a brief is filed electronically, within 3 business days of that filing. If more than 5 paper copies of the brief are received after July 1, 2014, extra copies will not be retained by the Clerk of Appellate Courts and will not be returned to the filing party.
