IN RE JOSHUA SKINNER, Relator
Original Proceeding from the 204th Judicial District Court Dallas County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. F-1520176-Q
Before Justices Reichek, Goldstein, and Kennedy
MEMORANDUM OPINION
NANCY KENNEDY, JUSTICE
In this original proceeding, relator seeks a writ of mandamus compelling the trial court to rule on his motion for forensic DNA testing. After we requested a response on March 1, 2024, the trial court filed a copy of its March 5, 2024 order denying relator's motion. Because relator has obtained all relief requested in this original proceeding, the issues presented in this petition are now moot. See In re Contract Freighters, Inc., 646 S.W.3d 810, 813 (Tex. 2022) (orig. proceeding) (per curiam); In re Bienati, No. 05-22-00324-CV, 2022 WL 16735366, at *1 (Tex. App.-Dallas Nov. 7, 2022, orig. proceeding) (mem. op.); In re Cloud, No. 05-13-01156-CV, 2013 WL 4859265, at *1 (Tex. App.-Dallas Sept. 11, 2013, orig. proceeding) (mem. op.). We lack subject-matter jurisdiction over a case that has become moot. In re Johnson, 599 S.W.3d 311, 312 (Tex. App.-Dallas 2020, orig. proceeding).
Accordingly, we dismiss relator's petition for a writ of mandamus for want of jurisdiction.
