Honorable Martha Tanner, Judge Presiding
ORDER
This is an accelerated appeal from an order terminating appellants' parental rights. Appellants' briefs were originally due on May 16, 2017.
Appellant J.H. is represented on appeal by appointed counsel, Mr. Manuel C. Rodriguez, Jr. On May 16, 2017, Mr. Rodriguez filed a first request for an extension, asking for an additional twenty days in which to file the brief.
Appellant Rosemary Z. is represented on appeal by appointed counsel, Mr. Gerald Uretsky. On May 16, 2017, Mr. Uretsky filed a first request for an extension, asking for an additional twenty days in which to file the brief.
The Texas Rules of Judicial Administration require this court to "ensure that the appeal is brought to final disposition . . . [w]ithin 180 days of the date the notice of appeal is filed." TEX. R. JUD. ADM. 6.2(a). Rosemary Z. filed her notice of appeal in the trial court on April 13, 2017, and appellant J.H. filed his notice of appeal in the trial court on April 21, 2017.
Both requests for an extension of time are GRANTED. Mr. Rodriguez is ORDERED to file appellant J.H.'s brief no later than June 5, 2017. Mr. Uretsky is ORDERED to file appellant Rosemary Z.'s brief no later than June 5, 2017. Given the restraints governing the disposition of this appeal, further extensions of time will be disfavored.
