DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION FOR REINSTATEMENT
Motion by M. James Salem for reinstatement to the Bar as an attorney and counselor-at-law. Mr. Salem was admitted to the Bar in the State of New York at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department on January 8, 2003, under the name Maurice J. Salem. In a separate proceeding, under Appellate Division Docket No. 2019-02383, by opinion and order of this Court dated March 18, 2020, Mr. Salem was suspended from the practice of law for a period of six months, effective April 17, 2020. By opinion and order of this Court dated March 3, 2021, under Appellate Division Docket No., Mr. Salem was subsequently suspended from the practice of law for a period of one year, effective immediately. By decision and order on motion dated April 22, 2022, under Appellate Division Docket No. 2019-02383, Mr. Salem's first motion for reinstatement was denied in light of the opinion and order of this Court dated March 3, 2021.
Upon the papers filed in support of the motion and the papers filed in relation thereto, it is
ORDERED that the motion for reinstatement is held in abeyance, and the matter is referred to a Committee on Character and Fitness to investigate and report on M. James Salem's character and fitness to practice law.
