This proceeding arises out of Cause Nos. 2004-CR-4257; 2004-CR-4258; 2004-CR-4259, styled The State of Texas v. Eric Ryles, pending in the 379th Judicial District Court, Bexar County, Texas, the Honorable Bert Richardson presiding.

Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus Dismissed for Lack of Jurisdiction.

MEMORANDUM OPINION


Applicant has filed a petition for writ of habeas corpus complaining of his confinement in the underlying criminal causes. Courts of appeals have no original habeas corpus jurisdiction in criminal matters; our jurisdiction is appellate only. Tex. Gov't Code Ann. § 22.221(d) (Vernon 2004); Dodson v. State, 988 S.W.2d 833, 835 (Tex.App.-San Antonio 1999, no pet.). Accordingly, the petition for writ of habeas corpus is dismissed for lack of jurisdiction.
