ORDER


Rule 6.1 of the Rules of Professional Conduct establishes standards for pro bono services by lawyers and credit therefore. The Court, en banc, at the request of the Mississippi Bar has recognized the serious need for legal assistance to victims of hurricane Katrina, regardless of whether those victims fall within the scope of those recipients defined in Rule 6.1.

IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that lawyers providing volunteer services without compensation to victims of hurricane Katrina may claim such service as credit for pro bono services under Rule 6.1 of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
