In the MATTER OF Eugenia RUIZ-URIBE, An Attorney At Law (Attorney No. 007352007)


ORDER

The Disciplinary Review Board having filed with the Court its decision in DRB 19-132, concluding on the record certified to the Board pursuant to Rule 1:20-4(f)(default by respondent) that Eugenia Ruiz-Uribe of Tonawanda, New York, who was admitted to the bar of this State in 2007, should be censured for violating RPC 1.3 (lack of diligence), RPC 1.4(b) (failure to communicate), RPC 1.15(b) (failure to promptly disburse funds to a client), RPC 1.16(d) (on termination of representation, failure to take steps reasonably practicable to protect a client's interests), and RPC 8.1(b) (failure to cooperate with disciplinary authorities);

And Eugenia Ruiz-Uribe having been ordered to show cause why she should not be disbarred or otherwise disciplined and having addressed before the Court the subject of unearned fees;

And good cause appearing;

It is ORDERED that Eugenia Ruiz-Uribe is hereby censured; and it is further

ORDERED that Eugenia Ruiz-Uribe shall pay the sum of $3,500 to her clients in the immigration matter that is the subject of the within disciplinary proceedings within thirty days after the filing date of this Order and shall provide proof thereof to the Office of Attorney Ethics; and it is further

ORDERED that if respondent fails to pay the $3,500 to her clients as ordered, she will be administratively ineligible to practice New Jersey law pending payment to the clients and submission of proof thereof; and it is further ORDERED that the entire record of this matter be made a permanent part of respondent's file as an attorney at law of this State; and it is further

ORDERED that respondent reimburse the Disciplinary Oversight Committee for appropriate administrative costs and actual expenses incurred in the prosecution of this matter, as provided in Rule 1:20-17.
