Summary of Misconduct:

Mr. Ruder, who was licensed in 1980, was censured and ordered to complete successfully the Illinois Institute of Professional Responsibility course within one year of the order of discipline. He failed to keep his clients informed regarding the status of their case, was not candid with the clients regarding the status of their case, and delayed informing them that the case had been dismissed.


Order of the Court:

The petition by the Administrator of the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission to impose discipline on consent pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 762(b)is allowed, and respondent Lawrence Theodore Ruder is censured and ordered to attend the professionalism seminar of the Illinois Professional Responsibility Institute within one year of entry of this order.
