Original Mandamus Proceeding

This proceeding arises out of Cause No. 34336CR, styled The State of Texas v. Elmer Adalberto Landaverde Reyes, pending in the County Court, Maverick County, Texas, the Honorable Susan D. Reed presiding.

ORDER

PER CURIAM

On April 2, 2024, Relator, Elmer Landaverde Reyes, filed a petition for writ of mandamus. Landaverde Reyes also filed a motion to stay the underlying proceedings pending our final resolution of the petition for writ of mandamus. This court believes a serious question concerning the mandamus relief sought requires further consideration. See Tex. R. App. P. 52.8(b). The respondent and the real party in interest may file a response to the petition in this court on or before April 30, 2024. Any such response must conform to Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 52.4.

Landaverde Reyes's request to stay the trial court proceedings is GRANTED. The underlying proceeding is STAYED pending further order from this court.

It is so ORDERED on April 10, 2024.
