IN RE Petition for Reinstatement to the Practice of Law of James Michael BENTIVEGNA, Registration No. 0198420.
ORDER
Petitioner James Michael Bentivegna was admitted to practice law in the State of Minnesota on May 12, 1989. In 1994, petitioner relocated to Connecticut, and in 1995, petitioner was admitted to the practice of law in Connecticut.
In December 2012, petitioner voluntarily resigned from the practice of law in Minnesota. Since 2002, petitioner has been a superior court judge in Connecticut. On July 22, 2019, petitioner filed a petition for reinstatement to the practice of law in Minnesota. See Rule 18(a), Rules on Lawyers Professional Responsibility (RLPR). The Director of the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility investigated the matter and reported her conclusions to a panel of the Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board. See Rule 18(b), RLPR.
After considering the written submissions of the parties, the panel found that petitioner has proven by clear and convincing evidence that he is competent and morally fit to practice law and has met all of the conditions for reinstatement. The panel recommends that petitioner be reinstated to the practice of law. Petitioner and the Director accept the panel’s recommendation.
We have independently reviewed the file and approve the panel’s recommendation.
Based upon all the files, records, and proceedings herein,
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that petitioner James Michael Bentivegna is reinstated to the practice of law, which reinstatement will be effective upon payment to Lawyer Registration of the required registration fees.
