In the Matter of George N. Pappas, An Attorney At Law (Attorney No. 239711967)


ORDER

The Disciplinary Review Board having filed with the Court its decision in DRB 21-259, concluding that George N. Pappas of Hoboken, who was admitted to the bar of this State in 1967, and who has been temporarily suspended from the practice of law since February 20, 2018, should be reprimanded for violating RPC 8.1(b) (failure to cooperate with disciplinary authorities);

And the Disciplinary Review Board having further determined that respondent should submit to an audit by the Office of Attorney Ethics within sixty days after the Court's order and provide: (1) all documents the Office of Attorney Ethics requested in its March 6, 2018 letter, (2) documentary proof of the release of all unclaimed trust account funds to their intended beneficiaries or to the Superior Court Trust Fund pursuant to Rule 1:21-6(j), and (3) documentary proof of the release of the jewelry to the intended beneficiaries or if the jewelry cannot be released, a written explanation to the Office of Attorney Ethics regarding the status of the jewelry;

And good cause appearing;

It is ORDERED that George N. Pappas is hereby reprimanded; and it is further

ORDERED that respondent shall submit to an audit by the Office of Attorney Ethics within sixty days after the Court's order and shall provide: (1) all documents the Office of Attorney Ethics requested in its March 6, 2018 letter, (2) documentary proof of the release of all unclaimed trust account funds to their intended beneficiaries or to the Superior Court Trust Fund pursuant to Rule 1:21 -6(j), and (3) documentary proof of the release of the jewelry to the intended beneficiaries, or if the jewelry cannot be released, a written explanation to the Office of Attorney Ethics regarding the status of the jewelry;

And it is further

ORDERED that the entire record of this matter be made a permanent part of respondent's file as an attorney at law of this State; and it is further

ORDERED that respondent reimburse the Disciplinary Oversight Committee for appropriate administrative costs and actual expenses incurred in the prosecution of this matter, as provided in Rule 1:20-17.
