COURT OF APPEALS THIRTEENTH DISTRICT OF TEXAS CORPUS CHRISTI - EDINBURG
Oct 6, 2017
NUMBER 13-17-00451-CV (Tex. App. Oct. 6, 2017)

Opinion

NUMBER 13-17-00451-CV

10-06-2017

IN THE INTEREST OF A.M.L. AND L.M.R., MINOR CHILDREN

On appeal from the 24th District Court of Jackson County, Texas.

ORDER

Before Justices Rodriguez, Benavides, and Longoria
Order Per Curiam

This cause is before the Court on appellee's first unopposed motion for extension of time to file its brief. This Court, having fully examined and considered appellee's motion, is of the opinion that appellee's first motion for extension of time to file its brief should be granted with order. The Court, however, requires strict adherence to the briefing rules in appeals of parental termination cases, such as this appeal, and looks with disfavor upon the delay caused by such extension requests. See TEX. R. APP. P. 38.6; see also id. R. 28.4.

Appellee's first motion for extension of time to file its brief is hereby GRANTED, and appellee is hereby ORDERED to file its appellate brief with this Court on or before October 16, 2017. Further motions for extension of time will not be favorably entertained by this Court, absent extraordinary circumstances.

The Clerk of this Court is ORDERED to serve a copy of this order on appellee's counsel, the Honorable Jerry L. Reyes, by email and certified mail, return receipt requested.

PER CURIAM Delivered and filed the 6th day of October, 2017.
