Opinion

No. 05-10-00319-CV

Opinion issued April 13, 2010.

Original Proceeding from the 194th Criminal District Court, Dallas County, Texas, Trial Court Cause No. F03-50787.

Before Chief Justice WRIGHT and Justices O'NEILL and FILLMORE.

MEMORANDUM OPINION

Before the Court is relator's petition for writ of mandamus seeking relief from his felony conviction and naming his public defender. The facts and issues are well known to the parties, so we need not recount them herein. This Court does not have jurisdiction to enter a writ of mandamus against a public defender. See Tex. Gov't Code Ann. § 22.221 (Vernon 2004). Additionally, our mandamus jurisdiction does not extend to matters relating to post-conviction felony proceedings. See Tex. Code Crim. Proc. Ann. art. 11.07 (Vernon 2005). Accordingly, we DISMISS relator's petition for a writ of mandamus for want of jurisdiction.
