Original Proceeding

This proceeding arises out of Cause No. 20120-CI-18056, styled J. Marvin Smith III, M.D. v. Methodist Healthcare System of San Antonio, Ltd., LLP, pending in the 150th Judicial District Court, Webb County, Texas, the Honorable Rosie Alvarado presiding.

ORDER

PER CURIAM

On April 4, 2024, relator filed an amended petition for writ of mandamus, asserting the trial court erred by ordering it to produce documents that are protected under the medical peer review privilege.

On August 20, 2024, the parties filed a joint motion to abate this original proceeding for 30 days so that the parties may engage in settlement discussion.

We GRANT the motion to abate and we ORDER the parties to file a joint detailed advisory informing this court of the status of this case by September 19, 2024, unless relator has filed a motion to dismiss by that date.

It is so ORDERED.
