In the Matter of the Appointment of Members to the Youth Justice Oversight Committee
ORDER

The General Assembly has directed the Commission on Improving the Status of Children in Indiana (hereinafter "the Commission") to create a statewide juvenile justice oversight body (hereinafter "the Youth Justice Oversight Committee"). See Ind. Code § 2-5-36-9 (2022); House Enrolled Act 1359. The enabling legislation authorizes the Chief Justice of Indiana to designate the chair of the Youth Justice Oversight Committee; and to "make the initial appointments and designations to the . . . oversight body."
The Court received notice that Terry Stigdon, Director of the Indiana Department of Child Services, will no longer be in this position after Friday, May 5, 2023, resulting in a vacancy on the Youth Justice Oversight Committee. The Court thanks her for her service on the Youth Justice Oversight Committee.
To fill this vacancy, the Court now appoints recently appointed Director of the Indiana Department of Child Services, Eric Miller, to serve as a member of the Youth Justice Oversight Committee.
