IN RE RONNIE MCKINSEY

Original Proceeding

MEMORANDUM OPINION

On November 17, 2011, Ronnie McKinsey filed a petition seeking habeas corpus relief from confinement arising from a commitment order. See Tex. Health & Safety Code Ann. § 571.0167 (West Supp. 2011). On December 19, 2011, McKinsey notified the Court that the Department of State Health Services has begun civil commitment proceedings and that he is in the process of being held pursuant to valid civil court orders. McKinsey is no longer seeking relief from this Court and has requested that this original habeas proceeding be dismissed as moot. Accordingly, we dismiss this original proceeding without reference to the merits.

PETITION DISMISSED.

PER CURIAM Before McKeithen, C.J., Gaultney and Horton, JJ.
