Summary of Misconduct:

Mr. Malkus, who was licensed in 1961, was disbarred on consent. He was convicted of federal mail fraud for taking bribes and making false statements while serving as a California Superior Court judge in the 1990s. He was sentenced to a 30-month prison term.


Order of the Court:

The motion by James Alan Malkus to strike his name from the roll of attorneys licensed to practice law in Illinois pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 762(a) is allowed, effective immediately.
