ORDER FINDING WILLIAM S. LEWIS IN CONTEMPT and ORDER REFERRING MATTER TO THREE-JUDGE PANEL
On March 2, 2006, this matter came before the court for a hearing on the court's February 21, 2006, order requiring attorney William S. Lewis to show cause why he should not be held in contempt and punished accordingly. A hearing was held and oral argument heard. For the reasons stated on the record,
IT IS ORDERED that William S. Lewis is found to be in contempt.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that William S. Lewis is sentenced to 30 days' imprisonment in the custody of the United States Marshal's Service. The sentence is held in abeyance pending the completion of the disciplinary proceedings pursuant to E.D. Mich. LR 83.22.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that this matter is referred to a three-judge panel, to be selected by blind draw by the Clerk of Court, for disciplinary proceedings pursuant to E.D. Mich. LR 83.22. The disciplinary complaint at issue in this matter consists of the "Referral to the Chief District Judge" submitted by Chief Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes, a copy of which is attached hereto.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Walter Handler, Esq. is appointed as prosecuting counsel in this matter, pursuant to E.D. Mich. LR 83.22(e)(6)(A).
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that William S. Lewis is not to prepare, sign or file, electronically or otherwise, any papers, pleadings, motions or other documents with the Bankruptcy Court. Nor is he to consult with or advise any client, prospective client, person or entity about anything related to bankruptcy. If William S. Lewis violates the letter or spirit of any provision of this order, or the letter or spirit of the court's prior orders in this matter, the court will order his immediate arrest and imprisonment.
