ORDER

On order of the Court, the application for leave to appeal the November 2, 2023 judgment of the Court of Appeals is considered. We direct the Clerk to schedule oral argument on the application. MCR 7.305(H)(1). The parties shall file supplemental briefs in accordance with MCR 7.312(E), addressing whether: (1) the Court of Appeals correctly found that the trial court should have assumed jurisdiction over the minor child pursuant to MCL 712A.2(b)(1) and (2) under the circumstances of this case; (2) In re Hockett, 339 Mich.App. 250 (2021), was correctly decided; and (3) DVL would qualify as a dependent homeless minor pursuant to MCL 712A.2(b)(3)(A).

The Children's Law Section and the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan are invited to file briefs amicus curiae. Other persons or groups interested in the determination of the issues presented in this case may move the Court for permission to file briefs amicus curiae.
